THE SLOE JAM (home) As in jam made out of sloes--not to be confused with sloe gin (grin!)
This is a regular slow jam. We play oldtime fiddle tunes, bluegrass songs, old swing jazz tunes, and anything else that takes the fancy of a motley crew of friends. We meet Wednesday evenings at someone's home and usually play from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m.
Some of us meet on Sundays at the Broadway Brewery (downstairs on the south side of Broadway, Columbia, between 8th and 9th Streets) for a jam session from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. In this configuration it's called Brew Grass!
This is Jim Stallman, our webmeister
If you're interested in jamming along, then write me... I'll pass your email to Jim, and he'll write you where the next jam is gonna be, and how to get there.
This is Lyle Johnson on guitar
David Dean White on dobro and Dan McKown on banjo.
Barry Gainor (see Gainor & Friends) usually plays bass with Sloe Jam, but he also plays mandolin and banjo and guitar.
See, here's Barry on mandolin, with Tom Lata on guitar.
